a. Design solution for canal route: Total length of improvement and upgrade route L=286m. - Select the bottom elevation of the dredged canal route is (+1.6m), with such bottom elevation has the following effects: + Increase irrigation capacity through the canal; + In accordance with the planning of the irrigation system of Hai Phong city. - Altitude system: Use hypothetical elevation system. - Dredging criteria. + The width of the dredged canal bottom is designed based on the current width of the canal bottom (section from km 0+00 to Km 0+194.43m, the bottom of the canal is 3.6m wide). + Rock embankment reinforces canal banks on both sides of the route from km 0+00 to km 0+86.04m by embankment. + Embankment of canals in some sections on the right to prevent erosion, bank width B=1m. Adding a box culvert to regulate drainage BxH = 1,0x1.1m from the field garden at the location of pile D3+4m. b. Structural solutions: - Stone embankment from km 0+00 to km 0+86.04m: Newly built 172.0m embankment of stone embankment reinforced on both sides of the drainage canal: XM M100 mortar embankment; embankment building stone mortar XM M75; embankment foundation reinforced with bamboo poles 2.8m long. Above the protection embankment with KT KT reinforced concrete piles 15x15x100cm on the left, the distance is 3m/1 stake. - Cement concrete road surface from km 0+00 to km 0+86.04m: New design of 2x4 M250 BTXM road surface with thickness of 20cm, side = 2.5m on the left side of the route (adjacent to the stone embankment of the canal). - Box culvert across the road with size BxH = 1,0x1,1m at pile position D3+4m: + Head wall, culvert wall made of on-site concrete poured stone 1x2 M300. + Concrete culvert foundation poured in place M150 stone 2x4. Below is a layer of crushed stone 4x6cm thick 10cm. + Reinforce the culvert foundation with bamboo piles D6 – D8, L=2.8m, density 20 piles/m2. + The culvert body is made of reinforced concrete of grade M300, 1x2 stone poured in place. + Reinforce concrete and stone culvert yard 1x2 M300, 10cm thick 4x6 stone cushion underneath. Placing the sluice with earth, utilizing compaction K=0.95, is as high as the back of the sluice.
